Dr. Anderson was born in Michigan, but grew up as the youngest of three boys in the small West Tennessee town of Ripley. He held many jobs in order to work his way through school, including radio disc-jockey, fork-lift operator, welder, and construction worker.
Education
After graduating from Lambuth University in Jackson, Tennessee, Dr. Anderson entered dental school at UT-Memphis, graduating with a DDS degree in 1981. He completed his residency in general practice at UT Hospital, Knoxville, then served as director of the General Practice Residency Program until 1985.
Family
Dr. Anderson and his wife, Elizabeth, met on a racquetball court 30 years ago and married in 1979. Their oldest son, Will, resides with his wife, Sarah, in Oak Ridge, TN (where he works as a Mechanical Engineer). Their youngest son, James, is student-teaching at West High School in Knoville in the English Department. The Anderson's have always enjoyed doing things as a family.
Hobbies & Interests
The Anderson family enjoys racquetball, soccer, biking, and hiking. In recent years, Dr. Anderson and Elizabeth have taken up sailing and are active members of Concord Yacht Club. They are also very involved in mission and leadership with their church (Cedar Springs Presbyterian).
Professional Focus
Single-visit dentistry. Patients who need full restoration of a broken or decayed tooth can complete treatment in one visit. Dr. Anderson's expertise in CEREC technology provides the patient a computer-designed and manufactured crown in just one appointment. His practice also focuses on prosthodontic replacement of the complete or partially edentulous patient.
