Dr. Griffin was born and raised in Knoxville. Even as a young child he knew that dentistry would be in his future.
Education
A product of Bearden High School, Dr. Griffin completed his undergraduate degree from The University of Tennessee-Knoxville. He received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from UT-Memphis, graduating with honors. He has subsequently received extensive specialized training in dentistry, including:
- Implant fixture placement and advanced bone grafting procedures from the Midwest Implant Institute
- One-year externship program on implant placement
- Training at the Medical University of South Carolina in advanced soft-tissue and bone grafting
- Residency in conscious sedation at the University of Alabama at Birmingham; ACLS certification; oral and IV sedation certification from Tennessee State Board of Dentistry
Family
Dr. Griffin and his wife, Lexie, married in 2000. They have three children, a son, Bay, and twins, Addie and Asher. Bay loves baseball and UT sports. Addie is an excellent gymnast, while Asher is learning baseball from his older brother and is becoming the family comic.
Hobbies & Interests
The Griffin family is very involved in their church, and Dr. Griffin has taken a mission trip to Suriname, South America, where he taught tribal Indians to extract decayed teeth, and helped them learn to meet basic dental needs of their people. He is very involved in local men's ministries, including teaching leadership training and marriage enrichment. He also loves coaching boy's baseball and football, and spending as much time as possible with his wife and children.
