Meet Your Knoxville Dentist

Dr. Joshua J. Kimrey

Dr. Kimrey was born and raised here in Knoxville as the oldest of three siblings.  In fact, he’s been a patient of Cornerstone Dental Arts since we first opened our doors in 1988. He attended the Cedar Bluff schools before enrolling at Webb School of Knoxville for high school where he played football each year and served as captain of his Varsity team. Throughout his teenage and college years, Dr. Kimrey worked for his father’s microwave engineering firm.

Education

After graduating from Clemson University with high honors and a degree in Chemistry, Dr. Kimrey continued on to the University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Tennessee to pursue his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree (DDS).

In July 2018, Dr. Kimrey started his training with the Academy of Gp Orthodontics under the mentorship of Charles Young, DDS.  After completing this multi-year, comprehensive training, Dr. Kimrey expanded his practice to include traditional braces for both adults and children, and now resides as an Associate Fellow within the Academy.  Dr. Kimrey has also attended training for Invisalign Brand Clear Aligners in Washington, D.C. and is currently a Gold Plus Level Provider with the brand.

Family

Dr. Kimrey and his wife, Rachel, were high school sweethearts and married shortly after they both graduated from Clemson. Rachel is an elementary school teacher with Knox County Schools.  They have two children, Luke and Livie, and two boxers, Kiki and Thor.

Interests and hobbies

The Kimreys enjoy cheering on the Tennessee Vols and Clemson Tigers. They are also active members at Cedar Springs Presbyterian Church.

Professional Focus

Dr. Kimrey focuses on transforming smiles both through general dentistry and orthodontics, including traditional braces and Invisalign.  He also places an emphasis on collaborating with his partner dentists as he uses orthodontic treatment to not just make cosmetic improvements, but also to extend the life of restorative dentistry and improve the overall functionality of his patient’s teeth.

On Cornerstone

“What I love most about Cornerstone is the genuine family feel. We all work as a team to ensure our patients have the best dental experience in Knoxville. Not only do our teams feel like family, our patients do, too.”
