Biography

Dr. Griffin was born and raised in Knoxville, and even as a young child, he knew dentistry would be in his future. Today, his areas of focus at Cornerstone Dental Arts include IV sedation, dental implants, the pinhole surgical technique, and soft-tissue and bone grafting, with a dedication to making implant therapy a pleasant experience for every patient.

Beyond his work at Cornerstone, Dr. Griffin shares his expertise as a faculty member of the Midwest Implant Institute and serves as director of MII Tennessee, teaching other dentists the art and science of implant dentistry.

Dr. Griffin utilizes the Yomi robotic-assisted surgical system — the first and only FDA-cleared robot for dental implant procedures. This technology provides millimeter-level precision for implant placement, resulting in minimally invasive procedures and faster recovery times.

Combined with 3D CT imaging and AI-powered planning, the Yomi system allows for same-day implants in qualifying patients while keeping Dr. Griffin in full control throughout the procedure.

A very active family, the Griffins can often be found on the baseball field, at a cheerleading event, a dance competition, or enjoying time on the lake. They are deeply involved with their church and support GO Ministries in the Dominican Republic, where they use dentistry and baseball as ways to serve and connect with the community—a source of great joy for the family. Dr. Griffin and his wife are the proud parents of four children: their oldest son Bay, twins Addie and Asher, and Isabella (“Izzie”), the princess of the family. Since Izzie’s arrival in 2014, the Griffins have also become active with the Down Syndrome Awareness Group, working to help make Knoxville a welcoming and inclusive community.
